Final Reflection

I decided to join this class because I thought it was a good opportunity to get college credit and I wanted to challenge my self. At the beginning of the year I didn't understand a lot of the reading. I always had to re-read the chapter many times to understand it. If I could retake this class I would. Most of the time I didn't do my work. Since I didn't understand the class that much I never wanted to come to fifth period. Mr.Rodriguez is one of those few teachers that actually care about you and motivates you.

When the school year began I didn't understand most of the reading. I would read a word and I didn't even know that word existed. The vocabulary cards helped me a lot to understand most of the reading. Also what helped me a lot was the lectures. If I didn't get the reading the lectures helped me understand the main things about the chapter. Sometimes I would barely understand the chapter. I would sometimes ask Mr.Rodriguez for help. Coming to the after school and Saturday school helped me a lot. I didn't know how to write good essays. I struggled a lot with the thesis. By coming to the Saturday secession helped me improve a lot on the thesis.

If I could retake this class I would. During first semester I was more worried about volleyball than my classes. My grades went down because of that. I would get home from games really late and I wouldn't do my homework. When first semester was almost over I was really stressed out because I had to raise my grade and I was specially stressed out because of AP i thought it was impossible to raise my grade. I barely passed my classes. When my coach saw my grades he told me "Your first a student then an athlete." If I could retake this class I would always do my homework and pay good attention in class. Also I wouldn't be embarrassed to ask Mr.Rodriguez for help.

Mr.Rodriguez is one of those few teachers that actually cares about his students. He is a great teacher who always put in so much of his time for his students. He would stay after school and come to Saturday school just to help us out. Many times I thought about dropping out of this class and get regular world history, but Mr. Rodriguez told me to stay and try because if I tried my best I would succeed. By not doing my homework assignments I fell behind, but Mr.Rodriguez would tell me to go after school and do my homework so he could help me. He never thought I couldn't pass this class he would always tell me not to give up. He wants his students to succeed in life and to prove to those who have doubts about you wrong.

I am glad I took AP World History. Compared to my other classes, in this class I learned the most. I gained an enormous amount of knowledge this year thanks to this class. Listening to the lectures really helped me to understand the class because of how Mr.Rodriguez explained everything and he made it interesting. I would always leave his class knowing something new. For those upcoming sophomores do not procrastinate. By falling behind will only stress you out. Do all the homework and read ALL the chapters. You don't want to regret it later like I do.
